Brett Colley earned his MFA in Printmaking from the University of Iowa in 1994. Now an Associate Professor at Grand Valley State University, Colley teaches a variety of courses including Drawing, Printmaking, and Senior Seminar. Colley's work has been exhibited widely, in over 30 states and 6 countries. His recent projects - including installations in Cleveland, Chicago, and Davenport, Iowa - address issues of social justice, with heightened focus on animal rights and the abolition of factory farming. Colley is also active as a curator, having served on the Curatorial Board of the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts from 2004-2012.
