Remnant latex paint, screen-printing, relief prints adhered to wall with wheat paste
In the process of producing work from the Weapons of Mass Deception series - complex images involving as many as 60 individual blocks - mistakes were routinely made. Rather than discard a full day's effort due to a momentary lapse in craft, I began to salvage successful passages from these prints with an X-Acto knife. This growing collection of loose, shaped images soon compelled me to imagine their potential as decals, applied directly to assorted surfaces.
The group exhibition Dissent afforded one of the earliest opportunities to employ this technique, the images pasted over other painted and printed layers of my site-specific mural.
